- Measuring principle

All Kirchgaesser pressure meters have a silicon thinfilm sensor or a highly resistant ceramic sensor, depending on customer requirements.

• The ceramic sensor is a dry sensor, which means the process pressure acts directly on the robust, ultra-pure ceramic membrane (99.99% AL2O3) and moves the membrane. A pressure-dependent capacity change is measured on the electrodes at the ceramic substrate and process membranes. The measuring range is determined by the thickness of the ceramic process membrane. As a dry measuring cell that does not require oils to transfer the pressure, the ceramic sensor is completely resistant to vacuums.

  • Thanks to ultra-pure 99.99% ceramic:

  • Low measuring ranges possible (> 40 mbar)
  • High long-term stability

• The process pressure moves the process membrane and a filling liquid transfers the pressure onto a resistance measurement bridge (semi-conductor technology). The pressure-dependent change in the bridge-output voltage is measured and evaluated.
• Benefits:
  • Can be used for process pressures up to 600 bar
  • High long-term stability, guaranteed overload resistance up to four times the stated pressure
  • Significantly lower thermal influence in comparison with diaphragm seal systems
  • Small flush-mounted process connections
