The robust and reliable LEVEL‑EX level meter is used for the non-contact and maintenance-free measurement of levels (max. 10 m for bulk solids and 20 m for liquids) in silos, tanks, bunkers and on conveyor belts. It is also used to determine the content (volume or mass) of silos, tanks and bunkers in underground mining. The function of the LEVEL‑EX level meter is largely independent of the medium properties such as permittivity, conductivity, density or humidity.
The level meter comprises a LEVEL‑EX‑S transducer and an external LEVEL‑EX‑A evaluation and display unit. The device features electronics controlled by a micro-processor with a wide range of settings, such as limit value generation, linearization, and conversion into customer units. The level meter can be supplied with all electrical connections that are commonly found in underground mining and can be delivered with either a frequency output (5-15 Hz) or a current output (4-20 mA), each with a potential-free optocoupler output.
The LEVEL‑EX‑S transducer is connected to the remote LEVEL‑EX‑A evaluation and display unit using a special VLH-type connecting cable; the electrical connection is made at the LEVEL‑EX‑A. The VLH-type connecting cable (max. 100 m long) is not part of the scope of delivery and must be ordered separately.
