The robust and reliable MID‑EX‑E small flow meters provide cost-effective and reliable flow measurement with high measurement accuracy under different process conditions in underground mining. The transmitter is used to measure the combined flow and pressure (optional) of electrically conductive liquids such as water, emulsions, sludges, pulps and pastes. The devices can be used to monitor the sprinkling system for the cutting drums on shearer loaders or the cutting heads on road headers, to monitor the inlet and outlet of water-cooled engines or containers, as well as to monitor the wall and line injection, for example. Due to the electromagnetic measuring principle, the transmitters are wear- and maintenance-free.
The small meters features a wide spectrum of process connections (internal threads, plug couplers, socket nipples), nominal diameters (DN10, DN19, DN25) and pressure ratings (PN100 to PN500). In addition to the measuring range that can be set freely, all electrical connections that are commonly found in underground mining (terminals and cable connections, PROMOS, Machaczeck, Souriau, Hydrostar, Hirschmann) and output signals (5-15 Hz, 4-20 mA, 1-10 V, limit value) are available, so that the device series covers practically all application requirements.
The electromagnetic small flow meter can optionally be supplied with an integrated pressure measurement system and is suitable for use in safety systems where high levels of functional safety are required according to EN 13849-1 (Performance Level d) and EN 61508 (Safety Integrity Level 2).
