Flow indicator for bulk solids
- Measuring principle

The ultra-compact flow indicator for bulk solids is a non-contact device based on microwave technology and works with a frequency of 24.15 GHz.

Measuring principle

  • The FTR16 flow indicator operates on a microwave basis. The device emits a signal which is reflected by the moving bulk material. The FTR16 measures the strength of the reflected frequency-shifted (Doppler effect) energy, this is evaluated and output via the display or the signal output.

Advantages

  • The measuring principle is independent of:

    • Temperature and pressure in containers
    • Aggressive and abrasive media
    • Dust, steam, mist, smoke and sediment deposits or build-up
    • Airflow, air layers of different temperature

  • Non-contact measurement procedure, therefore no wear and no maintenance required
  • It is possible to take a measurement through non-metallic container materials directly from the outside
